February 1^st: Bon Voyage Kirtan! Come celebrate with us! Yoga chant with Sandra Leigh, Lyle Povah and Stefan Cihelka on tabla. While Sandra is away, Give Peace a Chant! will continue… with a little help from our friends! Lyle Povah will be coordinating and leading the evenings, and Rob, Debbie and Kim will be helping out, too. Lyle will share the evenings with GPaC guests Hirdaya, Soorya and Niranjan, Elio Rota, Chantal Jolly, Stefan Cihelka and other talented local musicians who have offered to help out, as spirit calls them.

April 18^th: Give Peace a Chant! Celebrates Earth Day… with guests Phil L'Hirondelle, Luannah Ethan and friends. Praising our indigenous relations with native chants and drumming. Come be part of this great blessing as we connect deeply in our hearts and give back to our Mother Earth with our song. Native chants and prayers will be directed towards awakening humanity to greener action, as well as for the healing and repair of the planet. The future of the Earth is in our hands and in our voice… we really do make a difference.

May 2^nd: Welcome Wade Imre Morissette on his "my religion is kindness" 2008 tour! We are pleased to have Wade lead us in an evening of inspirational groove and call and response kirtan. October 24^th: Give Peace a Chant! celebrates the month of Kartik with a special Diwali season kirtan. Join Lyle Povah and Sandra Leigh for a candlelit celebration to warm your heart and lighten your life. In the month of Kartik, (end of Oct and into Nov) we can make more progress towards the Divine than at any other time of year, as every effort we make is magnified a hundred times. It is an especially beneficial time of year to sing the Holy Names!

January 29^th: We have been invited to join up with the GLOBAL 24 HOUR KIRTAN, synchronizing our kirtan with the spiritually potent Kumbha Mela taking place in Vrindavan, India on the Full Moon. Join Sandra Leigh, Michelle Dumond, Shawn Soucy and many friendly voices, to honour Divine Mother in her form of THE RIVER. In India, the Yamuna River is considered a Water Goddess, and has flowed through the holy town of Vrindavan for thousands of years. She is facing irreversible damage in the name of progress & development. Here in BC, the natural heritage of our rivers is also being compromised without consideration for our future generations. Call and response KIRTAN till sunset, then… Sound Healing with Sparrow, Sandra, friends, healers & Light workers… underneath the stars, next to the ocean… all are welcome! Cosmic Viewing through a high powered telescope begins after sunset (8:55 pm). Moon viewing, compliments of with Rob Scharein.

After sunset we will shift awareness to a more meditative place. Enjoy some light Dru Yoga moves, savasana relaxation and/or sitting meditation to the sound of crystal bowls, magical musical soundscape and heavenly voices… pls do come prepared and bring a yoga mat for sitting on, meditation cushion, blanket, dress warmly for when the sun goes down.
